We know that some people will be a little awkward about removing the Gideon Bible from rooms themselves, so another option is to remove the threat posed by the book whilst leaving it in place.

There have been various attempts to stick stickers on Gideon bibles in the past - usually humorous stuff like warning labels for the front of the book. We have something else in mind. We intend to produce a kit of stickers designed to be attached directly to the Gideon Bible.

As an example, most christians know the story of Sodom and Gommorah - how Lot was the "one good man" saved from destruction. Not many people know the next bit of the story - where the "good man" Lot got drunk, slept with his daughters and got them pregnant.

Oddly enough, that isn't included in the Gideon "useful passages..." guide at the front of the book. The Sticker kit will help rectify this oversight by highlighting this (and other) passages of the bible which would horrify any halfway decent person.

What we envision at this point is an A4 page of stickers which can be seperated out and are designed to be attached directly to the pages, in specific locations. Printed beside each sticker will be a location guide which lists the book, chapter, verse and approximate page where the sticker should be placed.

We hope that the stickers can be produced in a way that makes them very difficult to remove without tearing the pages, and that allows them to stick out from the side of the book like tabs. The idea is that it's practically impossible to read the book without seeing them.

We need three things to make this happen. We need a clear list of target pages - essentially a top ten or twelve verses to highlight the true nature of the book. We need people with the time to put it together (this could be time consuming) and thirdly, we need money.
